How to Build a Kid’s Friendly Online Game Website

by on May.18, 2010, under Club Penguin

Designing an Online Games Website for kids requires some considerations to make the website friendly to children. Here are some points that can help web designers: 1. Do not make it too educational – Remember that it is not a game to master. 2. Keep the design and location on the page of games with the least possible changes. 3. KISS-Keep it simple. . Try to do the design simple to navigate for children without parental assistance. 4. No pop-up advertising, the child will lose the focus of your site, and parents do not like it either, instead use ads as part of your page. 5. Try using screenshots of the game, instead of just links. 6. No application for payment for online games unless your game is popular as Club Penguin or Disney. 7. Make sure the ads that are put in place for children and do not contain pictures or text that are not suitable for children. 8. Try to make the site colorful and fun, not a business site. 9. For online games – create simple games and fun, not too complicated (at least for children ages 3-7). 10. Let your child earn points or virtual currency as part of the game. Children are considered consumers an easy, but they also have shortness of breath so if your site is poorly designed that will leave you in no time.
