you can beat him with your origonal cards, I did. just think or the type that will win against the one that will lose to your choice, thats how I did it.

Dude, I became Fire Ninja without any of those unlock cards. I only had one 10 Fire Card of Normal Card-Jitsu and One that i got in the starter deck of Card-Jitsu Fire. So, you don’t need them. But yes, you do need the membership.
